The calcaneus is the most frequently fractured tarsal bone, with 70-75% of fractures being intra-articular.
Fractures with collapse and imposed serious fractures. Open reduction and stable internal fixation with a lateral plate is a standard treatment for such intra-articular fractures.
The O’nil Mercury calcaneus plate has a low-profile, contoured design to provide a better anatomic fit which supports the articular surface of calcaneus and also reduces soft tissue irritation.
Benefits and advantages
- The patented screw-plate locking system eliminates the risk of cross threading between the screw and plate and ensures a simple operative technique.
- Mercury plate allows multiple fixation points for supporting small fragments -11 locking holes make the plate suitable for the fixation of various types of calcaneal fractures.
- Bicortical fixation.
- Simple and intuitive Instruments reduce surgery time.
- Manufactured from Titanium Grade 4 – ISO 5832-3.
